The purpose of the GCCSA recreation league is to provide a quality soccer program to all players, regardless of skill. All players will play a minimum of 50% of the game if they attend one practice a week, and a minimum of 25% of the game if they did not practice. The GCCSA does not emphasize win/loss records. The league emphasizes developing soccer skills, sportsmanship, participation and enjoyment. Teams are created by the Board of Directors based on player skills, with balanced competition as the major goal. Coaches are parent volunteers and are provided direction and practice input by our Director of Coaching for Classic/Academy/Recreation.
Players are assigned to divisions according to age. New players must be at least four years old. The league may adjust the age divisions as necessary to balance players between divisions. The league also reserves the right to create age divisions, based on player age distributions and league operation needs. Your registration fee will be refunded if there is not an age division appropriate to your child. Age divisions follow USYSA guidelines and will go up to U18 if registration numbers support a U18 division.
GCCSA recreation league plays two seasons per year - FALL and SPRING. Teams are formed in the fall and player placement remains the same for the spring. The fee is $65 per season, or $60 per additional child in the same family. A $15 late fee will be assessed for all registrations postmarked after the deadline and note there could be the possibility of no space available.
The league has a supplemental accident insurance policy that is in effect for all registered players during practices and games.
All players MUST wear shin guards during practice and games. The league will supply jerseys. Players must purchase shorts and socks to match the jersey. Soccer cleats are highly recommended but not required. Each player needs a ball, sizes as follows: U6 - U8 Size 3; U10 - U12 Size 4; U13 and older Size 5
