The recreation program is made up entirely of volunteers. Parents are expected to contribute to the success of each team by volunteering to be the coach, assistant coach and team manager. When these positions are all filled the remaining parents should volunteer to help the coach at practice and on game days. Parents should help clean up the sidelines by picking up all empty drink bottles and other trash.
The GCCSA Recreation soccer program has provided an avenue for players of all ages in the Greater Cleveland County area for over 30 years. The league is divided into two seasons beginning with the Fall season and followed by the Spring season.
Players can play in both seasons or choose to play in only one season. Players starting in the Fall season will stay with the same team through the end of Spring.
The league is open to all children 4-18 years of age where the main criteria is to have fun while learning the game of soccer. All players will play a minimum of 50% of the game if they attend one practice a week, and a minimum of 25% of the game if they did not practice. The GCCSA does not emphasize win-loss records.
All games are played locally in Cleveland County against other GCCSA teams. Games are located at Hanna Park, typically on Saturday mornings. Some games may be played in Kings Mountain or other venues across Cleveland County.

All coaches are parent volunteers. The registration fee for one child is waved for our volunteer head coaches as long as they are coaching their child's team. If you are interested in becoming a Volunteer coach please email
