L 3-4

A great debut for the 99 Cobras White team which jumped out to an early 2-0 lead.  At half the Cobras led 3-2.  Goals from James Mabry, Micah Randall and Gavin Goforth on a free kick that was smashed.

Most of the second half the score held up but under a bright hot sun Cabarrus scored two late goals.  The Cobras mounted a late attack when James took the ball down the left and was primed for a shot on goal as the game ending whistle blew.

It was a great first game for this brand new team.  Great job Braxton, Gavin, Parker, James, Tristen, Micah, Austin, Noah, Dane and Miles.

The Cobras came in to the 7th Annual Carolina Shootout untested in tournament play and drew a tough opponent in the first round.  The Cobras took a 2-1 lead into halftime with Goals from Miles Walker and James Mabry.  The 147th ranked CASL Raiders found the back of the net 4 times in the second half to manage a 5-3 victory over the Cobras. The CASL Raiders went on to win the Tournament. Goals by: Miles Walker, James Mabry and Gavin Goforth. The defense was led by superb defensive play of Noah Romich, Micah Randall and Dane Skeith.

Game 2: ICFC Tagoo 3 Cobras 5

Game 3: Cobras 1 FCCA Huntersville Reivers 0

The Cobras took shot after shot at the the goal in the first half and failed to find the back of the net.  The 217th ranked Reivers were excellent defenders and challenged every touch for our Cobras. Tied 0-0 at halftime, the Cobras came out firing on all cylinders in the 2nd half.  Pressing, passing and giving it 100% the Cobras could feel victory. With 10 minutes left in the match Gavin Goforth found the back of the net off a James Mabry pass. The defense deserves big kudos in this game.  The leadership of Dane Skeith and the relentless pressure and challenges of Noah Romich, Austin Roderick and Micah Randall kept the Reivers from setting up an offensive strike.  Parker Langston is credited with the shutout in goal.

Great job to all the '99 Cobras White team on an excellent showing in their first tournament.
