New This Fall - Season Long Hoop Opportunities!
Our Directors have been busy and in an effort to offer season-long opportunities for both Recreational and Competitive hoops, we are adjusting the session grade levels. Almost ALL kids will be able to play basketball from late October through March! Of course, participants can register for 1st session, 2nd session or both. Please review the chart below. Registration for both sessions open AUGUST 1st!
WAA's Indoor Winter recreational basketball leagues are for boys and girls in grades K – 12. Online registration begins in August. Enrollment is limited and players will be placed on teams on a first come, first serve basis. Register early for Special Requests and Early Bird Pricing. Some Divisions may be limited.Registration fee includes a team shirt.
The primary emphasis of the program is to teach basic skills to all players and enhance the skills of the more experienced players. The program encourages player creativity in the development of both individual and team skills. WAA’s goal is to create an atmosphere of fun and good sportsmanship for all players. Emphasis on only winning is not the purpose of our program. All players participate equally. Coaches clinics are offered for both sessions. Our recreational program for grades 9th – 12th will NOT be open to high school team players. The high school program will be split into two divisions; grades 9–10 and 11–12.
League Play will be split into 2 sessions. At this time, all age groups except 7th/8th grade girls and High School Boys will have the opportunity to play both sessions.
The games are scheduled to be played on Saturdays at a District 204 or area school. Practices are held during the week in the evening at local area facilities. Head coaches will schedule practices at the beginning of the season and communicate to team. K-2nd grade play with 8 foot hoop height, 3rd grade play on 9 foot hoop, and 4th grade – HS use 10 foot hoop height.
