The Lady Cobras opened the scoring nine minutes into the match when Sarah Lampley won the ball in the midfield and was able to take it past the WCWAA defense.
The WCWAA squad tied the game off a penalty kick that was called for a handball in the box. Another goal late in the half just slipped by the Cobra keeper.
In the second half WCWAA scored 5 minutes into the half. The Lady Cobras battled back and scored at the seven minute mark Taylor Niblack assist, Sarah Lampley with the goal. The Cobra defense held tight and the Cobras offense mounted several attacks but were unable to find the equalizer.
Candie Waters played well in goal.
It was a great first game for the Lady Cobras in their first game playing together. Great job Nicola, Lauren, Morgan, Kaitlyn, Felicity, Sarah, Carli, Taylor, Morgan and Candie

In just their second game playing together the Lady Cobras faced off against a talented squad from Lake Norman.
The Earthquake got a quick jump on the Lady Cobras playing an aggressive and attacking style.
Shots on goal from Lauren Brooks, Sarah Lampley and Morgan Elliott did not result in a score.
At the break, adjustments were made and the Lady Cobras came out fighting in the second half with two goals by Morgan Reel within 6 minutes. Unfortunately it was not enough to garner a victory.
The girls continue to train hard and improve together as a team. |
